Located in a beautifully renovated former church building in Monticello, Illinois, Monarch is the premier special events venue in Central Illinois. Monarch can accommodate everything from small group meetings to large company meetings, weddings, and more.
Monarch’s building has been serving people, in one way or another, for over 70 years. From 1911-2016 the building was home to the United Methodist Church of Monticello. It was during the congregation’s move that Monarch began to take flight! In 2016 we took occupancy of the building began an extensive transformation. The Monticello community rallied behind our goal to breath new life into the beautiful structure that was to become Monarch. Over the course of nine months, we leveled the dining room floor, pulled up every piece of hardwood, removed the old floor joists, and reinstalled all of the original hardwood. To honor the building and its beauty, we repurposed as much of the original wood and supplies as possible. Look down and you will find the old white pine floor joists as the tables and bar tops. Look up and you’ll see that we’ve refurbished the existing pendant lights, and of course, preserved the gorgeous stained-glass windows that are prominent fixtures in our bar and dining rooms.
Our kitchen is located on-site, in the basement of the building. Because our kitchen is on-site it makes catering your special event very easy! Our bar, located on the main level, features over a dozen locally sourced beers, and where possible, we also try to source from our local farmers and producers which includes Lieb Farms.
